The Van der Valk Hotel Rotterdam-Blijdorp regards the highest
possible consideration of the environment as one of its most
important objectives. The controlling of the environmental
load and the restriction of the environmental risks are a
primary responsibility of both the management and each
staff member of the Van der Valk Hotel
Rotterdam-Blijdorp.
The care for the environment will be a structural part of and
closely connected to the other company objectives. All staff
members are obliged to carry out their work in accordance with the
stipulated procedures and with the related comapny's policy and to
consider this as a self-evident way of acting.
The policy of the Van der Valk Hotel Rotterdam-Blijdorp includes
providing services that comply with and respond to the expectations
of the visitors. The operational management should be carried out
in such a manner, that it protects the environment and guarantees
the safety and health of its staff members, visitors, suppliers and
the public.
In order to realise this policy the Van der Valk Hotel
Rotterdam-Blijdorp complies with the following rules:
- Acknowleding the importance of the environment in terms of
corporate and commercial matters - act in line with the laws and
regulatiosn regarding environmental concerns.
- training and instructing each staff member, hold him or her
responsible with regard to the compliance with the policy and
enabling each staff member to remove obstacles for the continious
improvement of the environmental accomplishments - Measuring
the environmental progress by means of monitoring.
Finally our company's objective, as result from the policy,
includes minimising the production of waste and restricting a
negative effect on the air, the water and the soil as a result of
the implementation of the operational management, by means of an
effective environmental care system.
